The Contempt Petition is filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, to punish the respondent for the willful disobedience of the order passed by this Court in WP No.5005 of 2017 dated 13.9.2017.

ORDER

This Court, on 4.6.2018, issued bailable warrant to the Managing Director, State Express Transport Corporation (Tamil Nadu Division No.1) Ltd., Pallavan Salai, Chennai-2. Today i.e., on 13.6.2018, Mr.R.Ponmudi, General Manager, State Express Transport Corporation (Tamil Nadu Division No.1) Ltd., Pallavan Salai, Chennai-2 appeared before this Court and his further appearance is dispensed with.

2. The learned counsel, appearing on behalf of the respondent, today handed over Indian Bank, George Town Branch, Chennai-1 cheque bearing No.582851 dated 2.6.2018 for Rs.83,454/-, to the learned counsel for the writ petitioner, as per the orders of this Court dated 13.9.2017 passed in WP No.5005 of 2017.

3. In view of the fact that the order has been implemented, the bailable warrant issued by this Court to the Managing Director, State Express Transport Corporation (Tamil Nadu Division No.1) Ltd., Pallavan Salai, Chennai-2, on 4.6.2018 is recalled. Accordingly, the contempt petition stands closed. Consequently, connected sub application is also closed.
