ORDER

Alleging that the order dated 29.06.2017 passed by this Court in W.M.P.Nos.8606 of 2017 and 8607 of 2017 in W.P.No.364 of 2017 has not been complied with, the present contempt petition has been filed.

2.When the matter is taken up for hearing, learned counsel appearing for the respondent produced the letter

dated 29.05.2018 in compliance with the order passed. However, learned counsel for the respondent produced a further communication dated 21.04.2018 addressed to the petitioner before this Court. As per the aforesaid communication, the petitioner was asked to join duty in lieu of Section 17(B) wages.

3.Though the letter is dated 21.04.2018, the petitioner is yet to join duty. It appears, for the last three months, no amount has been paid. According to the learned counsel for the respondent, this is because of the fact that the petitioner did not join. Be that as it may, in view of the submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner is ready and willing to join duty, the petitioner is at liberty to do so. In any case, there is no question of non-compliance of Section 17(B) of the Industrial Disputes Act, in view of the letter dated 21.04.2018.

4.In such view of the matter, the contempt petition stands closed.
