COMMON PRAYER : The Criminal Original Petitions have been filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C. to call for the Records pertaining to FIR No.14 of 2022 dated 29.11.2022 on the file of the 1st Respondent, namely the Sub-Inspector of Police, All Women Police Station, Ashok Nagar, Chennai so as to quash the same.

... Mr.S.Rajakumar Additional Public Prosecutor COMMON ORDER To quash the case in crime No.14 of 2022 dated 29.11.2022 on the file of the 1st Respondent, the present criminal original petitions have been filed.
2.When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners in both Crl.O.Ps. submitted that this Court on 06.02.2023 directed the first respondent to continue the investigation but filing of final report is to be deferred till next hearing i.e.after three weeks. However, the first respondent has filed final report on 20.02.2023. In this
regard, contempt petition in Cont.P.No.910 of 2023 is also filed. Further, this Court on 16.06.2023 directed the learned Magistrate not to take the final report on file till the next hearing i.e. after three weeks, if the final report is not taken on file.
3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the first respondent in both Crl.O.Ps. submitted that the above direction has not been received by the I.O due to inadvertence. Therefore, having completed the investigation, the final report filed and the same was taken cognizance by the IV Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Saidapet in C.C.No.835 of 2023. In view of the above, nothing survives in this petition. Accordingly, the criminal original petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to challenge the final report, if so advised. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
