..Respondents/Respondents PRAYER: Appeal under Section 54 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894, to set aside the award passed in LAOP.No.7 of 2011 dated 30.01.2013 on the file of the District Judge at Karaikal. DECREE:This Appeal coming on for hearing on this day, upon perusing the grounds of appeal the award of the Lower Court, the material records in the case and upon hearing the arguments of Mr.R.Natarajan, Advocate for the appellant and of Mrs.G.Djearany, Government Advocate(Puducherry), this Court while allowing the appeal in part in modification of the award of the Lower Court doth order and decree as follows:- i)That the award of compensation be and hereby is enhanced by Rs.1,500/- (Rupees One Thousand Five Hundred only) per are by fixing the value at Rs.8,500/- per Are(i.e. Rs.7,000/- + Rs.1,500/- = Rs.8,500 per Are) for the lands acquired from the Appellant/claimant;

ii)That in all other respects, the other statutory benefits viz., solatium and interest, the orders of the Reference Court stand confirmed;
