This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent not to harass the petitioners in the guise of enquiry.

2. Heard Mr.M.K.Yukanth, learned counsel for petitioners and Mr.A.Damodaran, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, appearing for respondents.

3. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions, submitted that the petitioners are parents of the accused persons and that they were called for enquiry pending investigation in Crime No.742 of 2023.

4. In the considered view of this Court, if the parents of the accused persons are going to be called for enquiry, summons shall be issued to them and thereafter, they shall be called for enquiry. The parents cannot be subjected to any harassment in the name of enquiry just because their son committed a crime. This shall be kept in mind by the respondent police.
