This matter was listed on 01.12.2020 and was adjourned on account of the absence of the Petitioner. At the next hearing on 08.12.2020, once again, the Petitioner did not appear. Consequently, the matter was adjourned to today. At the hearing today, the Petitioner remains absent. The learned counsel Mr.B.Vijay is present on behalf of the High Court. He submits that the issue of maintenance of toilets was considered by the Hon'ble Building Committee of the High Court from time to time. In this connection, he referred to the Official Memorandum dated 10.09.2020 pertaining to the proceedings of the Hon'ble Building Committee. He also submitted that a contract for the maintenance of the toilets was awarded to the M/s.Swachh Indian Housing Keeping, Chennai, for a period of one year between 14.08.2020 and 13.08.2021.

2. The present writ petition is for a Mandamus to shift the entry of two toilets on the ground floor of the Eastern Side (North East Entrance) of the New Additional Law Chambers, High Court Building, Chennai.

In view of the submissions made by Mr.B.Vijay and upon perusal of the documents submitted by him, it is clear that the grievance of the Petitioner has been redressed in substance by ensuring that the toilets are maintained properly. As such, no useful purpose would be served by keeping this writ petition pending.

4. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of by recording the aforesaid submissions. It is made clear that it is open to the Petitioner to approach this Court in case of any issue in this regard in future. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed. No costs.
