PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C, to direct the 1st respondent to transfer the investigation concerning Crime No.1292 of 2014 pending on the file of Inspector of Police, (5th respondent herein) T-14, Mangadu Police Station, Chennai to CBCID Police, Chennai or any other suitable Authorities as this Court deems fit and further directing to complete the investigation expeditiously. O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the 1st respondent to transfer the investigation concerning Crime No.1292 of 2014 pending on the file of Inspector of Police, (5th respondent herein) T-14, Mangadu Police Station, Chennai to CBCID Police, Chennai or any other suitable Authorities.

2. It is seen that the investigation in Crime No.1292 of 2014 is pending on the file of the 5th respondent police. Now, almost five years have been lapsed and hence, due to the lapse of period, the prayer sought for by the petitioner cannot be granted now.

3. However, considering that the crime is of the year 2014, the 5th respondent police is directed to complete the investigation in Crime No.1292 of 2014 and file a final report within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, if not already filed.

4. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
