Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the claim of the petitioner to deviate her work at Chidambaram Kamarajar Hospital or Government Head Quarters Hospital, Cuddalore or Cuddalore Medical College and Hospital or other nearby Government Hospitals as staff nurse in the light of the representation made by the petitioner dated 10.12.2024 within a reasonable time frame. ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to consider the claim of the petitioner to deviate her work at Chidambaram Kamarajar Hospital or Government Head Quarters Hospital, Cuddalore or Cuddalore Medical College and Hospital or other nearby Government Hospitals as staff nurse in the light of the representation made by the petitioner dated 10.12.2024 2/6

The case of the petitioner is that, the petitioner joined as a Nurse in Government Hospital, Parangipettai, on contract basis and thereafter, she was transferred to Government Primary Health Centre, Sri Neducheri, Cuddalore. Later, the petitioner was participated in the process of selection for appointment to the post of staff nurse on consolidated pay by the proceedings of the 2nd respondent. The petitioner was transferred and appointed as staff nurse in Ariyalur Government Medical College and Hospital on 14.03.2024 and continuing till date. The petitioner states that, she is a native of Sozhatharam, Srimushnam Taluk, Cuddalore District and she is having two children and they are in the custody of her mother. The petitioner' mother is also suffering from diabetics and blood pressure.
The petitioner is travelling around 150 kms everyday to reach Ariyalur Government Medical College and Hospital. Hence, she submitted a representation to the respondents on 10.12.2024 to deviate her work as staff nurse in Chidambaram Kamarajar Hospital or Government Head Quarters Hospital, Cuddalore or Cuddalore Medical College and Hospital or other nearby Government Hospitals. The representation has not been considered by the respondents till date. Hence, the present Writ Petition has been filed.
3. The Learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that, the representation of the petitioner will be considered and disposed of by the 2nd respondent, in accordance with law, within a time which may be fixed by this Court.
4. In view of the submission made by the Learned Additional Government Pleader, without expressing any opinion on merits of the case, this Court directs the 2nd respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 10.12.2024 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. 20.01.2025 raja Index : yes/no Internet : yes/no 4/6
