ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by R.SUBBIAH, J.) This habeas corpus petition has been filed by the wife of the detenu for a direction to the respondents to provide proper medical treatment to her husband namely, Somasundaram @ Somu, son of Subramani, now confined in Central Prison I, Puzhal, Chennai.
2. It is contended that the detenu has been in prison from 2001 onwards and he is suffering in jail for the past more than 14 https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
years. It is also stated that the detenu is affected by paralysis. He needs immediate medical treatment by a specialist. The petitioner has also given a representation, dated 08.05.2015, to the respondents requesting them to provide medical treatment to the detenu. But the same not been considered so far. Therefore, the petitioner, the wife of the detenu, has filed the present petition seeking a direction to the respondent police to admit the detenu at Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital, Chennai, for further treatment.

Today, when the matter is taken up for consideration, the learned Public Prosecutor has submitted that the jail authorities are prepared to take the detenu to the Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital, Chennai, within a period of one week, for further treatment and if need be he will be admitted in the hospital. The said submission is recorded.
4. In view of the above undertaking given by the learned Public prosecutor that the detenu will be taken to the Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital, Chennai, within a period of one week, for further treatment, we are of the opinion that no further order is necessary in this petition.
