Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issue of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to appoint the petitioner to any post in the Government commensurate to his qualifications. ORDER
The petitioner, belonging to Hindu Adi Dravida community, which is a Scheduled Caste community, has studied upto 10th Standard. Unfortunately his father, while serving as Village Assistant, died in the year 2003 while in service. Immediately thereafter, the petitioner's mother made a representation on 20.5.2005 seeking employment on compassionate grounds for the petitioner. On receipt of the said representation, the petitioner was directed to submit all the requisite certificates. In spite of furnishing all the documents required for consideration of his representation for appointment on compassionate grounds, there was no response. After sometime, the Revenue Divisional Officer, Vellore, the second respondent herein has directed the third respondent-Tahsildar, Katpadi https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
Taluk, Vellore District to conduct an enquiry. However, as per the said direction, the enquiry has not been till date conducted. In the meanwhile, the petitioner's mother has given one more representation seeking an appointment order on compassionate grounds for the petitioner. But till date, the respondents have not come forward to consider the indigent circumstances of the family of the petitioner. Placing on record the copy of the communication dated 29.3.2016 issued by the second respondent to the third respondent, the learned counsel for the petitioner requested this Court to issue a suitable direction thereon.
2. Mr.T.M.Pappiah, learned Special Government Pleader, taking notice on behalf of the respondents, sought six weeks time to consider the petitioner's case.

As the documents filed by the petitioner do not show whether the Tahsildar, Katpadi Taluk, the third respondent herein has acted on the instructions given by the Revenue Divisional Officer, Vellore, this Court hereby directs the third respondent to conduct an enquiry as per the direction given by the second respondent and thereupon, on receipt of the enquiry report, the District Collector, Vellore, the first respondent herein is further directed to pass appropriate orders in accordance with law. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The writ petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs.
