ORDER

The prayer made in the writ petition is to issue a writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to grant permission and provide protection to conduct Orchestra (Light Music Programme) in the event of the temple festival of Sri Mariamman Temple situated at K.K.Kottai Circle, Betthaveppampattu Village, Vallipattu Post, Vaniyampadi Taluk, Vellore District, scheduled to be held on 19.04.2017.

It is the grievance of the petitioner that he has submitted a representation dated 20.03.2017 to the respondent police, seeking permission to conduct the said orchestra programme, scheduled to be held on 19.04.2017. However, till date, no order has been passed by the respondent police. Hence, this writ petition.

3.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent has no serious objection in conducting the said https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

programme, but he submitted that the programme shall not be allowed to be performed till midnight.

4. In view of the above, the respondent police is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 20.03.2017 and grant permission to the petitioner to conduct Orchestra in the event of Sri Mariamman Temple festival, scheduled to be held on 19.04.2017, subject to usual conditions. It is made clear that this Court has not granted any direction to conduct "Adal Padal Nigazhchi / dance programme". It is also made clear that the programme shall be performed only till 10.00 p.m.

5. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs Sd/- Asst.Registrar (CO) /true copy/ Sub Asst. Registrar KM To The Inspector of Police, Vaniyampadi Taluk Police Station, Vaniyampadi Taluk, Vellore District.
