O R D E R
The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the 2nd respondent to consider the appeal petition dated 04.10.2021 filed by the petitioner
against the order passed in proceedings Na.Ka.No.21806/2019/C4 dated 17.09.2021 and pass orders on the same as early as possible.

The case of the petitioner is that he is running a detective agency in the name of 'Royal Security and Detective Agency' and is in possession of the gun licence since 1991 and renewed his licence regularly. While so, the petitioner made an application before the 1st respondent on 16.12.2019 for renewal of his gun licence which expired on 31.12.2019 and the same was forwarded to the 3rd respondent and the 3rd respondent without verifying the facts, denied to accord permission to the petitioner to renew his gun licence solely on the ground that he has no occasion to use the weapon. Following the same, the 1st respondent rejected the petitioner's renewal application for gun licence vide proceedings dated 17.09.2021. Aggrieved by the said order, the petitioner preferred a statutory appeal before the 2nd respondent on 04.10.2021 enclosing all the necessary documents along with the application fee, however till date no orders have been passed on the said appeal. Hence, this Writ Petition is filed.
3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, it would suffice if this Court issues direction to the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's appeal petition dated 04.10.2021 and pass orders on the same as early as possible.
4. The learned Government Advocate has no objection for said order being passed.
5. In view of the aforesaid submissions, this Court without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's appeal petition dated 04.10.2021 on merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
