ORDER

The petitioner, who apprehends arrest by the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 4(3) of Tamil Nadu Gaming and Police Laws Act, 1930 (Amendment 2021) and offences under Section 318(4) of BNS, 2023, in Crime No.182 of 2025 seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner joining hands with other accused involved in gambling activities and cheated the defacto complainant. Hence, the case.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that, the petitioner is an innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case. He further submitted that the petitioner is ready to abide any stringent conditions that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prayed for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) reiterated the prosecution case and submitted that, apart from this case, petitioner has 12 previous cases similar in nature pending against him. Hence, he opposed for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the submissions made by both counsel and considering the gravity of offence committed by the petitioner, and also considering the fact that there are 12 previous cases similar in nature pending against him and considering the fact

that at this stage, if he is released on bail, there is possibility of tampering the witnesses and hampering the investigation, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 21-01-2026 gbi
