Respondents Prayer : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of certiorarified mandamus to call for the records relating to the Na.Ka.NO.2972/2023/A6, dated 20.11.2023 on the fie of the fourth respondent and quash the same and consequently direct the respondents 1 to 5 to remove the encroachers in a time bound manner.

ORDER

(Order of the court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) We have heard Mr.R.Karunagaran, learned counsel for the petitioner; and, Mr.K.Karthik Jagannath, learned Government Advocate for respondents 1 to 4.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is a President of Perambakkam Grade-I Panchayat. The fourth respondent delegated the authority to the petitioner to initiate action against the encroachers. The President has no authority to evict the encroachers.

3. It is for the authorities concerned, who are authorised, to take steps for evicting the encroachers in accordance with law.

4. In the light of that, the writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, W.M.P.No.505 of 2024 is closed.
