PRAYER : Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India pleased to issue Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st and 2nd respondents to grant police protection to conduct the Festival and administration of "Sri Muthu Mariamman Thirukovil" Gandhi Nagar Festival programmes scheduled to be held on 17.01.2023 to 10.02.2023 based on the petitioner's representation dated 07.12.2022 and 12.12.2022 situated at Solampallam, Mallamoopatty village, Gandhi Nagar, Sooramangalam Post, Salem District. 1/4

ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the 1st and 2nd respondents to grant police protection to conduct the Festival and administration of "Sri Muthu Mariamman Thirukovil" Gandhi Nagar Festival programmes scheduled to be held on 17.01.2023 to 10.02.2023 based on the petitioner's representation dated 07.12.2022 and 12.12.2022 situated at Solampallam, Mallamoopatty village, Gandhi Nagar, Sooramangalam Post, Salem District.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the respondents (3 to 6) in this case are opposing to conduct "Sri Muthu Mariamman Thirukovil" festival. Therefore, the petitioner gave a representation before the 1st and 2nd respondent on 07.12.2022 and 12.12.2022 for seeking police protection. But till now, no action was taken. Therefore, present petition is filed.

In response, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the 1st and 2nd respondent submitted that there is a dispute between the petitioner and the respondents ( 3 to 6) in the matter of conducting "Sri Muthu Mariamman Thirukovil" festival situated at Solampallam, Mallamoopatty village, Gandhi Nagar, Sooramangalam Post, Salem District.

4. In the light of the submissions made by both the parties, 1st and 2nd respondents are directed the consider the petitioner's representation dated 07.12.2022 and 12.12.2022 and pass appropriate orders in the manner known to law.
