O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to arrange the some other alternative place for functioning the Sumai Matrum Kappi Tholilalar Sangam, Santhapettai, Thevoor, Kilvelure Taluk, Nagapattinam District pursuant to the petitioner's representation dated 20.12.2021.

2. The petitioner is the President of the Thevoor Sumaithukkum Thozhilalar Sangam and has filed the writ petition to dispose the petitioner's representation dated 20.12.2021.

3. The specific case of the petitioner appears to be that the Association is functioning at the Government Cement and iron road shed, Santhapetai, Thevoor, Kilvelure Taluk, Nagapattinam District. It is submitted that the Association was also registered since 1990 with the main object to take care and for Welfare of the Members of the Association who are load man in the Government Cement and iron shed maintained by the Government.

It is submitted that the first respondent has made an arrangement to demolish the building of the Santhapetai Government Cement Shed and construct a Farmers Market in the same locality and therefore the second and third respondents have instructed the association to vacate the building. It is further submitted that there is no place or space available for the members of the petitioner to keep the things and belongings and therefore the petitioner approached the first respondent for seeking an alternate place for functioning of the Association. However, there was no response from the 1st respondent.

5. It is submitted that the petitioner has made a representation dated 20.12.2021 to the first respondent. Since, no action has been taken on the said representation, the petitioner has come forward with the present writ petition seeking for the aforesaid relief.

6. The learned Additional Government Pleader for the first and second respondent submits that appropriate orders will be passed on the representation of the petitioner dated 20.12.2021.

7. Considering the submissions made on either side, this writ petition is disposed by directing the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 20.12.2021 and pass appropriate order on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
