ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Acting Chief Justice) Mr.M.K.Subramanian, learned Government Pleader takes notice for respondents 1 to 5.

2. The petitioners have filed this writ petition seeking issuance of a writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to cancel the alleged patta issued in the peace of land in Survey Nos.213/6, 11, 214/2, 3, 4 and 278/8, 9, 10 situated at MGR Nagar Colony, Anaiyampatti Village, Gangavalli Taluk, Salem District which is earmarked for common purpose and restore the same in its original status based on the petitioners' representation dated 28.11.2016.

3. It is the case of the petitioners that allotments of free house sites have been given to non-residents like Government Employees, etc. and pattas have also been issued in respect of the land earmarked for common purpose like playground, water tank, community hall, etc. In this regard the petitioners sent representation to the respondent authorities on 28.11.2016. However, the same did not evoke any response from the respondents. Hence, the present writ petition.

4. On hearing the learned counsel for the parties, we direct the first respondent/District Collector to consider the representation of the petitioners dated 28.11.2016 and do the needful in accordance with law at the earliest.
