N.Rangarajan v. The State Rep. By
IN THE HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT MADRAS
DATED : 21.01.2026
CORAM
THE HONOURABLE MR JUSTICE K.RAJASEKAR Crl.O.P.No.625 of 2026 N.Rangarajan ... Petitioner Vs.
The State rep by The Inspector of Police, Achirapakkam Police Station, Chengalpattu District.
... Respondent PRAYER : Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, to enlarge the petitioner on bail in the event of arrest in Crime No.291 of 2025 on the file of the respondent police. For Petitioner : Mr.B.Vetrivel For Respondent : Ms.J.R.Archana Government Advocate (Crl. Side)
ORDER
The petitioners, who apprehend arrest for the alleged offence under Section 318(4) and 132 of BNS 2023 and r/w Sections 15 and 15(3) of Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 in Crime No.291 of 2025, on the file of the respondent police seek anticipatory bail. 1/4
2. Earlier, this Court dismissed the petitioner's bail petition on 01.12.2025 in Crl.O.P.No.32661 of 2025 on the following reasons: " 6. Considering the facts and circumstances of this case, gravity of offence, the petitioner herein is alleged to be a quack and he ran away from the clinic while the Joint Director of Health Service Department conducted inspection, taking note of the fact that the investigation of this case is pending and if the petitioner is granted anticipatory bail, he would indulge in similar offence and it would hamper the investigation process, hence this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitoner".
3. Now, the present petition has been filed without any change in circumstances after the dismissal of the petitioner's earlier bail petition. This clearly shows that the petitioner has abused the process of law. Hence, I am not inclined to reconsider the earlier order.
4. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 21.01.2026 Vv 2/4
