The validity challenged in the present writ petition has been overtaken by events pending the writ petition. The Tamil Nadu Government has amended the Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicles Taxation Act of 1974, by way of Tamil Nadu Act 30/2023. The amendment has come into force from 07.11.2023. Hence, the cause does not exist anymore. In case, the petitioner has any grievance, the petitioner is always at liberty to work out its rights by challenging the fresh amendment made or by filing an application for revival of this writ petition, in case, the petitioner is so advised. 2.Accordingly, this writ petition stands closed.
