ORDER

The prayer in the writ petition is to grant permission with aid to give police protection for the Mariamman Kovil Temple festival during the Pongal festival to be held between 09.01.2026 to 14.01.2026, by considering the representation of the petitioner and the village people dated 22.12.2025.

2. On perusal of the public notice/invitation printed in respect of the temple festival, it clearly shows the names of the fit persons as conducting the temple festival. Therefore, the festival of the temple is being conducted by the persons in charge of the temple. Let the same be conducted without any stoppage whatsoever and as far as possible, the same shall be conducted with the cooperation of everyone in the village.

3. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the first respondent would submits that a peace committee meeting is being conducted in that regard and that the meeting is to be held today.

4. In any event, if any force is used by anybody, it would be open to the fit person to seek police protection as and when necessary and if any request is made, the Inspector of Police, Krishnagiri Town Police Station, shall provide the necessary protection, taking into account the law and order situation prevailing in the area.

5. With the above observations, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
