The petitioner has come forward with this writ petition, seeking a direction to the respondent to consider and dispose of his representation dated 15.12.2020 within the time frame fixed by this Court by valuing the answers given by the petitioner (Enrl.No.0811898) in the OMR sheet as answers of "D" series question paper bearing serial No.1144056 and consider his candidature for the Common Recruitment for the posts of Gr.II - Police Constable, Gr. II Jail Warder and Fireman 2020.
2. Mr.V.Kadhirvelu, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice on behalf of the respondent. By consent of both parties, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. The case of the petitioner is that he applied for the Common Recruitment for the posts of Gr.II Police Constable, Gr.II Jail Warder and Fireman, 2020. He was called for the written examination on 13.12.2020. In the written examination, he was given "D" series question paper. In the Optical Mark Recognition sheet (OMR sheet), he clearly wrote his question paper series as "D", but, however, shaded the letters "C" and "D" in the column given for shading the type of question paper series. The shading of box "C" instead of box "D" was done due to oversight. After realizing the mistake of shading two question paper series, he made a representation dated 15.12.2020 to the respondent along with a copy of the question paper showing as "D" series bearing serial No.
1144056, requesting the respondent to consider the answers given by the petitioner in the OMR sheet as answers of "D" series question paper and value the same and to consider his candidature for appointment for the post of Gr.II Police Constable, Gr.II Jail Warder and Fireman, 2020. But, till now, there was no response from the respondent. Since the valuation of the OMR sheets of the written examination has been started, the petitioner is constrained to file this writ petition.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, as the petitioner's representation is already pending with the authority concerned, this Court directs the respondent herein to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 15.12.2020, if not already disposed of, and pass appropriate orders thereon, in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of thirty days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
