Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to pay the petitioners interest for the belated payment of 512 days, 450 days and 602 days respectively in paying the PF, Gratuity, earned leave salary and commuted value 1/4
of pension at the rate of 12 % per annum within a specified time, as may be fixed by this Court, Award costs.

ORDER
Mr. K. Raja, learned counsel takes notice for the 1st respondent. Mr.C.S.K. Sathish, learned counsel takes notice for the 2nd respondent. With the consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal today at the stage of admission itself.

This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents to pay interest for the belated payment of terminal benefits viz.,PF, Gratuity, earned leave salary and commuted value of pension etc., by considering the petitioners' individual representations due to the respective petitioners, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
3. It is the case of the petitioners that they joined the services of the respondent Corporation and retired from service on superannuation in various time period. It is the contention of the petitioners that the terminal benefits were settled to them, belatedly. Hence, they submitted representations on various dates to the respondents seeking payment of interest for the delayed payment of the benefits, as stated supra. Hence, this writ petition. 2/4
4. Heard the learned counsels appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.
5. In view of the limited request made by the petitioners with regard to interest on the belated payment of terminal benefits, this Court directs the 1st respondent to pay interest @ 6% for the belated payment of terminal benefits from the date of retirement till the date of actual disbursal of terminal benefits of the petitioner, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case.
