O R D E R
[Order of the Court was made by M.VENUGOPAL, J.] Heard the Learned Counsel for the Petitioner, the Learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the Respondents 1 to 3 and the Learned Counsel for the 4th Respondent.
2. Today, the 2nd Respondent / Inspector of Police, Pudupettai Police Station, Panruti has produced the Detenue, viz., Manjula, aged 21 years from her parents [4th Respondent -Father]. On an interaction, this Court interacted with the
Detenue, viz., Manjula, who has stated that her Date of Birth is on 10.06.1998 and that she is aged about 20 years. Further, she has completed her Diploma in Computer Science Engineering after her Plus Two Course and that her marriage with the Petitioner took place on 26.04.2018 at Thiruventhipuram, Cuddalore. The Detenue, viz., Manjula, has also informed this Court that she is willing to go along with her husband, viz., the Petitioner.
3. Also this Court interacted with the Petitioner, who has stated that he was born on 18.04.1998 and that he is aged about 20 years. Further, he is currently doing his 2nd Year in Computer Science Engineering Course at Annai Velankanni Polytechnic College, Anguchetti Palayam, Kongarayanur, Panruti Taluk, Cuddalore District. He has also stated that he got married with the Detenue, viz., Manjula at Thiruventhipuram and that he belongs to Scheduled Caste Community and his wife, Manjula, belongs to Most Backward Community.
4. Added further, the Petitioner informed this Court that after marriage, he is staying at a rented house at Vivekanandar Street, Uthapakkam Village, Kongarayanur, Panruti Taluk, paying a monthly rent of Rs.5,000/- [Rupees Five Thousand only] and his house owner is in Chennai and from the money he had with him, he has paid the rent to the house owner.
5. Be that as it may, considering the fact that the Detenue, Manjula, aged about 20 years is a major and is quiet capable of taking her own independent future course of action, this Court permits her to adopt her own and further course of action.
With the above said direction, this Habeas Corpus Petition is disposed of.
