ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent police to expedite the investigation in Crime No.15 of 2016 pending on his file, without any delay and complete the same within the stipulated time.

2. The case of the petitioner is that as against one Harif and 6 others, he has lodged a complaint with the respondent police and the same was registered as FIR in Crime No.15 of 2016 dated 01.08.2016 for the offences punishable under Sections 406, 417 and 420 IPC. After registration of the case, there was no progress in the investigation. Hence, this petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, who took notice for the respondent.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court directs the respondent police to investigate the case in Crime No.15 of 2016 pending on his file and file a final report as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
