The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is the mother of one Varalakshmi. She had completed B.Sc., (Bio-Tech) and was working in K.K.Ram Rice Mill at Tondiarpet, Chennai. The learned counsel for the petitioner would further submit that on 12.10.2021 at about 01.30 hours, the petitioner received a call from one Geetha informing that the petitioner's daughter was sick and she was admitted in the M.K.Nursing home and thereafter admitted in the Government Stanley Hospital. At that time only, she came to know that her daughter had attempted to commit suicide by consuming poison. Unfortunately, on the same day at about 03.50 hours, the petitioner's daughter passed away without responding to treatment.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that on the complaint given in H5, New Washermenpet Police Station,

Chennai a case was registered by the respondent police under Section 174 of Cr.P.C. As far as the petitioner is concerned, there is no reason for her daughter to commit suicide. The petitioner's daughter had committed suicide in her place of employment thereby, raising various suspicion in the minds of the petitioner. The learned counsel submits that the respondent police has not investigated the matter properly and failed to conduct investigation in a proper manner. He would submit that the respondent police has not even taken an attempt to verify the call record details of the victim/deceased and they have not found out the reason for the victim/deceased to commit suicide, thereby, the petitioner has approached this Court.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that this Court by an order dated 28.01.2022, had directed the respondent police to file a status report. Today, the respondent police filed status report and this Court perused the status report filed by the respondent.

5. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondent would submit that investigation has been completed and the respondent has examined 14 witnesses and awaiting FSL report to file the final report.

6. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondent and perused the materials available on record.

8. In view of the above, a direction is issued to the jurisdictional Assistant Commissioner viz., The Assistant Commissioner of Police, Thiruvottriyur Range to monitor the investigation conducted by the respondent police in Crime No.2209 of 2021 and to file a final report as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of three months from today.
