This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondent-police to register the complaint dated 20.04.2016 given by the petitioner.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

3. On a reading of the complaint dated 20.04.2016, it appears that the petitioner had entered into a franchisee agreement with the opposite party and had paid some amount to run the business. As agreed, no business was entrusted to the petitioner, nor the amount paid by the petitioner was returned to him.

4. Since the allegations in the complaint appears to be contractual in nature, no positive directions can be issued to the respondent-police to register an FIR.,

5. In view of the above, this Criminal Original Petition is closed, with liberty to the petitioner to work his remedy in the manner known to law.
