Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents herein to pass an order to include the name of the petitioner in the old pension scheme instead of contributory pension scheme by reckoning the commencement of his Government service with effect from 17.06.1991 in accordance with Tamil Nadu Pension Rules 1978 as he has already requested in his representation dated 22.12.2023 for the purpose of extension of the pensionary benefits. ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for direction directing the respondents herein to pass an order to include the name of the petitioner in the old pension scheme instead of contributory pension scheme by reckoning the commencement of his Government service with effect from 17.06.1991 in accordance with Tamil Nadu Pension Rules 1978 as he has already requested in his representation dated 22.12.2023 for the purpose of extension of the pensionary benefits.

2. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

3. Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the writ petition, the respondents are directed to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 22.12.2023 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous petition is closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
