ORDER
By order dated 08.04.2024, this Court directed the respondents/ contemnors to release the payment of Rs.29,76,025.88/- till date with further interest for the belated payment being the sums as agreed before the TNERC
at the rate of 6% per annum within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of that order.
2. As per the directions of this Court, the respondents released the fund for a sum of Rs.25,80,997/-, after deduction of some amount without paying any interest, as directed by this Court. It is the main grievance of the petitioner that they have only partially complied with the order of this Court. Therefore, the petitioner has filed the present contempt petition.
3. Learned Senior Counsel appearing for the respondents produced a copy of letter dated 25.06.2025 regarding under what calculation, the payment was made. The calculation details are as follows :- "

4. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.

Upon perusal of the records and considering the above submissions, it is evident from the order passed by this Court that TANGEDCO had previously directed to disburse the balance amount with applicable interest. Therefore, this Court directs the respondents to pay the total amount as directed by this Court in W.P.No.9857 of 2022 dated 08.04.2024, within six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above observations and direction, this Contempt Petition is disposed of. Consequently, the connected Sub Application is also closed. 25.06.2025 Index : Yes/No : Yes/No Speaking/Non Speaking order klt
