monetary benefits.

This writ petition has been filed seeking a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to quash G.O. (Ms) No.114, Finance (Pay Cell) Department, dated 06.05.2014, and to direct the respondents to grant the pay scales of Rs.4000-6000 (Ordinary Grade), Rs.5000-8000 (Selection Grade), and Rs.5500-9000 (Special Grade) to the petitioner as per Schedule-II of the Tamil Nadu Revised Scales of Pay Rules, 1998, with effect from the date of initial appointment and on completion of 10 years in each grade, along with all consequential monetary benefits.

When the matter is taken up for consideration, it is brought to the notice of this court by learned counsel on either side that the issue with regard to fixation of pay for grant of Ordinary Grade, Selection Grade and Special Grade etc., has been the subject matter of the litigation before the Hon'ble Apex Court in Civil Appeal Nos.9533 to 9537 of 2019, and the same
was decided by the Hon'ble Apex Court by its order dated 18.12.2019. Consequently, the Respondent No.1 also issued orders in Letter No.4866/CMPC/2013-2014 dated 22.01.2020, in compliance with the order passed by the Hon'ble Apex Court, by duly fixing the pay of the Driver at Rs.3200-85-4900, 4000-100-6000 and 4300-100-6000 in Ordinary Grade, Selection Grade and Special Grade respectively. In view of the said orders issued by the Government, the cause in the writ petition does not survive, and the writ petition can be disposed of in terms of the order issued by the Respondent No.1 through Letter No.4866/CMPC/2013-2014, dated 22.01.2020.

Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of directing the respondents to fix the pay of the petitioner in terms of Letter No.4866/CMPC/2013-2014 dated 22.01.2020, if not already fixed, as expeditiously as possible, at any rate within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs. Connected miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed.
