O R D E R

This writ petition is filed for issuance of a mandamus directing the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 21.02.2021 for providing him employment on compassionate basis.

2. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.

3. It could be seen that the compassionate appointment is claimed on account of sudden demise of the petitioner's mother in the year 2012 and at that time the petitioner was a minor and admittedly the petitioner has attained majority only after a period of three years from the date of death of his mother.

4. The said issue has been settled by this Court holding that if minors attain majority beyond the period of three years from the date of death of the Government servant, the application cannot be entertained. Therefore, there will be no useful purpose by directing the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner.

5. Accordingly, the writ petition stands dismissed. No costs. 05.04.2024 Index : Yes/No
