O R D E R

The petitioner who apprehends attest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Section 296(b), 132, 351(3) of BNS, 2023 in Crime No. 660 of 2025, registered on the file respondent police, seeks bail.

2. The allegation against the petitioner is that on 20.12.2025, the petitioner herein joined hands with other accused quarried 1/4 unit of river sand from Mallattaru near Anathur Anjaneyar Koil using bullock cart and it was transported without any valid licence from the Government. Hence the case.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is innocent and he has been falsely implicated in this case and he has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution. He also submits that the petitioner is ready to abide by any conditions that may be imposed by this Court and ready to furnish sufficient solvent sureties for his release. Hence, he prays for grant of bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) appearing for the respondent police, reiterated the prosecution case and submits that the petitioner is having five previous cases are similar in nature. However, he opposed for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5.Considering the gravity of offence committed by the petitioner; that the petitioner is having five previous cases are similar in nature; if anticipatory bail is granted to the petitioner he would damage the ecology and river bed, hence, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. 6.Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 09.01.2026 MSM 1.The Inspector of Police Thiruvennainallur Police Station Villupuram District Crime No. 660 of 2025.
