Respondents PRAYER : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the 1st respondent to direct the 2nd respondent to shift the graveyard in Survey No.369/2B an extent of 0.17.0 Ares in Nadukuppam Village, Vanur Taluk, Viluppuram District to some other place by taking note of the Memo of the 3rd respondent dated 22.06.2020 and Communication of the 2nd respondent dated 23.05.2025 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 11.04.2025 within the period as stipulated by this Honourable Court.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Heard learned counsel for the parties.

2. It is stated in the petition that, though a representation has been made for a justifiable cause of shifting the burial ground from

the existing location to another location and the same has been placed for consideration of the Zonal Officer, Vanur, through the Memo dated 22.6.2020 of the Revenue Divisional Officer, Villupuram, a decision has not yet been taken.

2. Without commenting upon the merits, we direct the first respondent to look into the matter and take his own decision, as may be considered suitable in the larger interest of public, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

3. The writ petition is, accordingly, disposed. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
