(Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH,J.) The petitioner was granted leave by this Court vide order dated 09.12.2020 for a period of 30 days. On 11.01.2021, this Court extended the leave till 20.01.2021.

On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the convict prisoner got himself admitted in the Stanley Medical College and Hospital for treatment on 16.01.2021 and he is now under the custody of the prison authorities from 20.01.2021. Thus, the leave period of the petitioner granted by this Court has expired on 21.01.2021 and he is now undergoing treatment in the Stanley Medical College and Hospital for renal failure.

In view of the above, the prison authorities may provide treatment for the petitioner in Stanley Medical College and Hospital and thereafter, he may be lodged in prison on medical advice by the hospital. 1/4

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that permission may be granted to any close relative of the prisoner to be by his bedside for assisting him.

Such a request can be made to the prison authorities and the same can be considered in accordance with the Rules. Hence, this criminal miscellaneous petition is closed. (P.N.P.J.,) (V.S.G.J.,) 21.01.2021 nsd 2/4
