O R D E R

Heard Mr.Senthamil Selvan, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.V.Shanmugasundar, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the 1st respondent and Mr.P.P.Purushothaman, learned Government Advocate appearing for the 2nd respondent.

2. The petitioner has come forward with the present writ petition seeking a direction to the 2nd respondent to issue house tax and water tax receipts based on her representation dated 02.03.2018.

3. The petitioner would state that she has been residing along with her family members at No.54/47, Arunagiripuram, 3rd Street, Thirukovilur Road, Tiruvannamalai Taluk and District, for more than 27 years. The petitioner is also paying the land tax, under ground sewerage tax and other taxes as per the Government norms. The electricity service connection, water connection and under ground sewerage connections have also been provided to the house of the petitioner.

4. The petitioner would further state that the 2nd respondent issued a notice dated 07.01.2018 directing her to pay sewerage tax of Rs.1350/-. Though the petitioner went to the office of the 2nd respondent on 06.02.2018 and paid a total sum of Rs.5,000/- for Sewerage connection tax, house tax and water tax, the 2nd respondent issued only sewerage tax receipt and denied to issue the other tax receipts to the petitioner. Hence, the petitioner sent a representation to the 2nd respondent on 02.03.2018. Since no action has been taken by the 2nd respondent, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition before this Court.

5. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice, if a direction to be issued to the 2nd respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 02.03.2018.

In the light of the facts and circumstances of the case and also the submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the 2nd respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 02.03.2018 and take appropriate action within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
