This writ petition has been filed to direct the first and second respondents to consider the representation dated 21/11/2020 and consequently, direct the first and second respondents to refund the excess amount collected from the petitioner or in otherwise a suitable concession be given in the subsequent month bill.

2. The grievance of the petitioner is that while taking the meter reading, on 21/10/2020, the second respondent has mentioned as 5,890 unit, whereas the actual consumption is only 1,520 unit. Due to this wrong entry, the second respondent Board is demanding a sum of Rs.8,512/-, based on the previous consumption unit.

Hence, the petitioner has made a representation to the respondents, but the same has not been considered so far. Therefore, the petitioner is before this Court.

3. Mr.Gunaraj, learned Standing Counsel takes notice for the Board and submits that if the petitioner has made a representation, it will be duly considered in accordance with law.

4. Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the representation, this writ petition is disposed of, with a direction to the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 21/11/2020, on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks, from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
