The relief sought by the petitioner in this writ petition is to call for the records relating to the selection of candidates for the post of Assistant Engineer (Electrical and Electronics Engineering) by direct recruitment 2012 in Tamil Nadu Electricity Board / TANGEDCO published by the 2nd respondent on 06.07.2012 and quash the same in so far as it relates to the non-selection of the petitioner is concerned and direct the 3rd respondent to sponsor the name of the petitioner for the post of Assistant Engineer (Electrical and Electronics Engineering) and consequently direct the respondents 1 and 2 to select and appoint the petitioner as Assistant Engineer (Electrical and Electronics Engineering) in the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board / Page No.2 of 5
TANGEDCO.
2. Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, learned counsel appearing for the respondent 1 & 2 has filed a counter affidavit stating that the petitioner has registered her name in the Employment Exchange only in the year 2010, whereas, the cut of date was mentioned as 15.10.1999. Hence, the petitioner name has not been sponsored for the post of Assistant Engineer/Electrical (EEE), since she has not reached the cut off date i.e., 15.10.1999. He further submitted that the selection process is over and nothing survives in this writ petition for further adjudication.
3. In view of the above submission made by the learned counsel appearing for the respondents 1 & 2, this Writ Petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs.
