ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for the issue of writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner and to grant him compassionate appointment.
2.
The case of the petitioner is that father of the petitioner was working as a driver in the Highways department and he died on 11.03.1987, while he was in service. After his death, the petitioner had applied for compassionate appointment. According to the petitioner, he was placed in a waiting list and he was never considered for the compassionate appointment for a long time. Several representations were also made by the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
petitioner and since, there was no response from the respondent department, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court.
3.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned counsel appearing for the respondents.
4. It is seen from records that the petitioner is now aged about 51 years and his father died in the year 1987. It is therefore, too late in the day to consider the request made by the petitioner for compassionate appointment. By the time compassionate appointment of the petitioner is considered, the petitioner may even reach the retirement age. No useful purpose will be served by issuing directions to the respondents to consider the representation made by the petitioner. This Court does not find any merit in this writ petition and accordingly, the same is dismissed. No costs.
