ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the respondent police to provide police protection in order to enable the petitioner to conduct the Kumbabhishekam in the temple. 2.

When the matter came up for hearing on 12.01.2024, the learned Additional Public prosecutor sought for some time to take instructions on the complaint / representation made by the petitioner. Accordingly, the writ petition was directed to be posted for hearing today. 3.

When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor on instructions submitted that the complaint has been taken on file in CSR No.243 of 2023 and it has been referred to the RDO, Sankagiri for conducting peace committee meeting. 2/5

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the opposition is made just by one person and whereas all the other families want to conduct the Kumbabhisekham together without creating any law and order problem.

Taking into consideration the entire facts and circumstances of the case and also of the fact that the function is going to be held on 18.02.2024 onwards, there shall be a direction to the RDO, Sankagiri, to complete the enquiry and take a decision within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

This writ petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
