ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] The habeas corpus petition has been filed seeking to direct the respondents to rescue the petitioner's daughter Selvi, D/o.Perumal, aged about 38 years and produce her before this Court and set her at liberty.

It is the case of the petitioner that her daughter Selvi, went missing from 12.03.2020 and that the police are not taking effective steps to secure her.

On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that Selvi was married to one Mahalingam and she got estranged from him; thereafter, she developed intimacy with one Raja, a neighbour and has eloped with him; in this regard, on a complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Perumbalai Police Station Crime No.915 of 2020 was registered on 16.06.2020 for 'woman missing' and investigation is in progress. Recording the same, this habeas corpus petition is closed with a direction to the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Pennagaram, to monitor the investigation in Perumbalai Police Station Crime No.915 of 2020 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenue is secured, she may be produced before the Judicial Magistrate Court, Pennagaram, under intimation to the petitioner.
