This case is taken up for settlement before the National Lok Adalat. Both the parties are present. Mr.S.S.Swaminathan, learned counsel for appellant is present.

TERMS OF SETTLEMENT The Tribunal has awarded a sum of Rs.2,20,277/- with interest at the rate of 12% per annum from the date of numbering the petition till the date of deposit and with costs as compensation, for the injury sustained by the respondent herein.

2. Transport Corporation filed an appeal aggrieved by the award. It is represented by the learned counsel for the appellant that the entire award amount has already been deposited and therefore, the award passed by the Tribunal may be confirmed. Accordingly, the award of the tribunal stands confirmed. The appeal stands dismissed. Metropolitan Transport Corporation Ltd, Represented by its Managing Director, No.2, Pallavan Salai, Chennai - 600 002.

Counsel for the Appellant This National Lok Adalat award is passed in terms of the above settlement.

The full Court fee paid shall be refunded to the appellant in the manner provided under Section 69-A of the Tamil Nadu Court-Fees and Suits Valuation Act, 1955 and the Court Fees Act, 1870 as provided for under sub Sec.1 of Section 21 r/w 25 of LSA Act 1987 as amended in 1994.
