The above application is filed under Section 29 A (4) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 for extending the mandate of the Sole Arbitrator by a further period of six (6) months. The arbitration proceedings were initiated on 31.01.2018. The mandate of the Arbitrator had come to an end on 30.01.2019. The respondents had not consented for extending the mandate by a further period of six months. Therefore the application has been filed. Though served the respondents did not appear either in person or through pleader.

2. The learned counsel for the applicant would submit that the respondents are yet to file their counter to the claim statement of the applicant. The mandate is therefore extended by a further period of six 2/4

months from the date of receipt of a copy of the order. The Application is ordered accordingly.
