Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issue of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to assign 60 sq.ms (600 sq.ft.) of vacant land comprised in S.No. 773/2A1A of Sakthi Nagar, 3rd Street, Korattur Village, Kallikuppam Post, Ambattur, Chennai 600 053. Earlier, the petitioner made a representation in the year 2007, followed by several representations, the latest ones being dated 10.12.2012 and 10.10.2015 to the 3rd respondent seeking issuance of patta in respect of the vacant land comprised in S.No. 773/2A1A of Sakthi Nagar, 3rd Street, Korattur Village, Kallikuppam Post, Ambattur, Chennai 600 053, based on Government Letters dated 08.06.2000, 04.07.2000 and 08.08.2000. According to the petitioner, who appears to be a differently abled person, even as early as on 24.01.2008, the 3rd respondent sent a communication stating that the land situate in the above https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
said survey number is a Government poramboke, that there is a proposal to grant patta to 143 persons and that the petitioner's petition has also been received. However, till date, as no orders have been passed on the representations of the petitioner, she has come forward with the present writ petition. 2.
Though the petitioner has sought a larger relief, since the consideration of the prayer sought by the petitioner lies with the 3rd respondent, the said authority is directed to consider and pass appropriate orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 10.10.2015, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
