O R D E R

(The case has been heard through video conference) The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offences punishable under Section 379 of IPC, r/w Section 21(1) of the Tamilnadu Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957, in Crime No.919 of 2020, on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner transported one unit of sand illegally. Hence, the complaint.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution and he has been falsely implicated in this case. Hence, he prays to grant bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the petitioner is a habitual offender and so many cases are pending against the petitioner. Hence, he prays for dismissal of this petition.

5. It is seen that the petitioner is a habitual offender and there are so many cases are pending against him. Considering the bad antecedents of the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
