ORDER

(DELIVERED BY P.N.PRAKASH, J.) This petition has been filed by the petitioner for a direction on the first respondent to secure the detenu, Sugumaran, S/o Narayanasamy Pillai, aged 42 years, and produce him before this Court and set him at liberty.

2. The petitioner has averred in the petition that after her marriage with the detenu, there was serious matrimonial discord between them. Though the detenu was ill-treating the petitioner and was even threatening to kill her, the detenu and the petitioner were living under one roof. However, since 16.3.2015 the detenu is missing. Therefore, the petitioner has given a complaint on 7.5.2015 with the second respondent which was registered as FIR No.1659/2015. However, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

no action having been taken by the respondent to trace the detenu, the petitioner is before this Court by filing the present petition.

3. Heard the learned Addl. Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents. There is no representation for the petitioner.

4. It is evident from the order sheet that there has been no representation on behalf of the petitioner for a considerable period of time. Today also, when the matter is taken up, there is no representation for the petitioner.

5. Learned Addl. Public Prosecutor submits that a case in Crime No.1659/2015 has been registered by the J-8, Neelangarai Police Station on 21.5.2015 under the section 'Man Missing' and investigation is in progress.

6. In such view of the matter, recording the said statement, this habeas corpus petition is closed with a direction to the police authorities to proceed with the investigation and if there is any development/break through in the investigation, to keep the petitioner informed of the said development.

7. With the above observation, this habeas corpus petition is closed.
