The petitioner/A2 seeks anticipatory bail in Crime No.272 of 2023 registered by the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 3(2)(a), 4(1), 5(1)(a), 6(1)(a), 7(1)(a) of Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956.

2. The case of the prosecution is that on 16.11.2023, the respondent conducted a search at Flat bearing No.28A/21, Halls Road(2nd Floor), Kilpauk Garden, Chennai, on receipt of secret information that prostitution is happening in the above house. The respondent had rescued four victims. The petitioner, who is conducting the prostitution of the business, was in possession of the flat. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner stated that the petitioner had sub-let the flat to yet another person. 4.Taking all these factors into consideration and the fact that this issue has to be examined during the course of trial and the name of the petitioner is given in the First Information Report and also the investigation will have to be done with respect to the modus operandi, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
