ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by M.S.RAMESH,J.) Complaining that the petitioner's daughter viz., Shalini, who is major, aged about 19 years had gone missing, the petitioner has filed the present habeas corpus petition.
2. During the pendency of this petition, we thought it fit to refer the petitioner and her daughter for mediation in view of the fact that the daughter had expressed that she is not willing to reside with her mother, but to continue her Law degree course at Central Law College, Salem by staying in Rani Hostel near Salem. We had referred the parties to Tamil Nadu Mediation and Conciliation Centre. During the course of mediation, both the petitioner and her daughter entered into a settlement dated 08.02.2024, which has been reduced into writing, with the following understanding:-
6. The following settlement has been arrived at between the parties hereto:-
A. The daughter agreed to stay in the Rani Hostel in Salem near the Central Law College and continue her law courses and complete her studies.
B. The petitioner/Mother undertakes to hear all the expenses for stay of her daughter and assures that she will not interfere in the completed the law course and further assure that her husband or her family members will not cause any interfering to the studies of the daughter.
C. The daughter/victim girl agreed that she will diligently continue her law course and complete the same and further that she would take appropriate decision on her own will and wish for her better future."
3. In view of the amicable settlement arrived at between the parties, no further orders are required to be passed in this Petition. Accordingly, the habeas corpus petition is closed.
