ORDER

Ms.M.Sneha, learned Counsel takes notice on behalf of the respondents 1 & 2 and Mr.S.J.Mohd. Sathik, learned Government Advocate takes notice on behalf of the 3rd respondent.

2.By consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

3.This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to appoint the petitioners to the post of Auxiliary Nurse Midwife/ Village Health

Nurse under the SC/BC reservation category, pursuant to the Notification No.10/MRB/2023 dated 11.10.2023 and Corrigendum-II dated 24.11.2025, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. 4.The case of the petitioners is that the 3rd respondent had issued Notification No.10/MRB/2023 dated 11.10.2023, inviting applications from women candidates through online mode for appointment to the post of Auxiliary Nurse Midwife/Village Health Nurse in Tamilnadu Public Health Subordinate Service for 2250 posts. The petitioners, being an eligible candidate, applied for the said post. The selection was to be made based on the marks obtained by the candidates in their academic and technical qualifications, in the ratio of 60% for the diploma course and 40% for SSLC. On 03.01.

2026, the 3rd respondent published the list of candidates called for certificate verification along with the cut off marks of the last candidates so called. However, the petitioners were not called for certificate verification, even though they had secured marks higher than the prescribed cut off mark. Therefore, the petitioners sent a representation through email dated 05.01.2026 to the 2nd and 3rd respondents, seeking clarification regarding the non-inclusion of their names in the certificate verification list and requesting that they may be permitted to participate in the certificate verification process. However, the same has not been considered till date. Hence the present writ petition has been filed.

The learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that it would suffice, if a direction is issued to the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioners' representation within a reasonable time to be fixed by this Court. 6.Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioners, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioners' representation dated 05.01.2026 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
