Respondents PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to effect connections to the underground drainage, de-silt the storm-water drainage and cover the same, and further to provide water supply, at Ramalinga Nagar Main Road and Gangai Street failing under Ward 169, Zone XIV of the Chennai Corporation in a time bound manner and in the interregnum direct the respondents to de-silt and cover the storm water drainage channel in these localities forthwith.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) This writ petition has been filed by way of public interest litigation seeking orders on the respondents to effect connections to the underground drainage, de-silt the storm water drainage and cover the same and further to provide water supply at Ramalinga Nagar Main Road and Gangai Street falling under Ward No.169, Zone XIV of the Chennai Corporation.

2. Learned counsel appearing for respondent No.1 submits that the work is already in progress and 90% of the work is completed. He undertakes on behalf of respondent No.1 that the work shall be completed within six months from date and underground drainage and water supply facilities as prayed for shall be provided within six months.
