(Order of the Court was made by R.SURESH KUMAR, J.) Pursuant to the earlier orders, today when the matter is taken up for hearing, an affidavit has been filed by the Secretary to the Government, Public and Rehabilitation Department dated 25.03.2024. Along with the affidavit, an annexure has been filed giving details of the 23 former law officers of the State, about their claim regarding fee bills, how much had been settled and how much is yet to be settled etc., has been provided.

2. Relying upon the affidavit as well as the annexure, Mr.P.S.Raman, learned Advocate General would submit that major portion of the claim has been settled and in respect of some of the law officers the entire claim has been settled. Therefore, as on date, the total due which is to be paid to the remaining law officers is only Rs.62,56,750/- and that amount also would be settled by the Government, for which provision has already been made, on or before 20.04.2024.

3. In view of the said submission made by the learned Advocate General, taking note of the affidavit and the annexure filed by the Public Department, we feel that for a further compliance report after completing the final settlement as per the annexure filed today, this matter can be heard on 22.04.2024. Hence, post this matter on 22.04.2024.
