..Respondent Petition filed under Article 226 of The Constitution of India praying to issue a writ of mandamus to direct the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 05.01.2017 for rectifying the error occurred in the death certificate of late R.Saravanan, S/o.Late Rangappan Chettiar, bearing Registration No.8/2016/1 dated 05.02.2016 with regard to the date of the death and issue amended death certificate to the petitioner.

ORDER

The petitioner has made a representation on 05.01.2017 to change the date mentioned in the death certificate as 23.09.2015 instead of 06.09.2015. Since the said representation has not been considered, the petitioner has come up with the present writ petition.

2.The post mortem report given by the Government Hospital, Tirupathur is not disputed, which says that the post mortem was done on 24.09.2015. Thus from that, it was very clear that the death has occurred on the previous day - 23.9.2015 and not on 06.09.2015. Therefore, a direction is issued to the first respondent to correct the original death certificate pertaining to late R.Saravanan, who is the husband of the petitioner, notifying the date of death as 23.09.2015, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. This order is passed in tune with Section 15 of the Registration https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

of Births and Deaths Act, 1969.

3.With the above direction, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
